It is a GREAT day to be a Dragon!
Ready, Set, GROW!

Tomorrow is our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!
Here is some important information regarding our first day:
School Hours- 7:20am to 2pm. The doors open will open at 7am. A warning bell rings at 7:15am. The tardy bell rings at 7:20am.
Breakfast and Lunch are free for all elementary students this year. We'd love for your child to eat breakfast and lunch with us this year. If they're going to eat breakfast at school, we ask that they report to the cafeteria to eat before going to class. If your child arrives after 7:15am, they will get their breakfast and take it to eat in their classroom. Extras are available for purchase in the cafeteria. You may send money with your child or add money to their account online (Click the Meal Payment button on the NRES webpage) so they can purchase extras.
Parents of Car Riders:
As much as possible, please be sure that your child(ren) is/are ready to exit the vehicle when you pull up to the sidewalk in the mornings. If you anticipate that it will take a minute, please pull up to a parking spot so that we can keep the line moving.
In the afternoon, please pull as far forward as you can. Officer Gray will help to direct our first cars where to start the line. While students are loading, we ask that engines are turned off. Also, you may exit your vehicle while students are loading, but please remain with your vehicle rather than coming to the front doors to find your child. Staff will be present to assist students in finding their vehicle. We dismiss one line at a time. Please wait until your line is dismissed before moving your vehicle. Please remain in your line- do not pass other vehicles.
Parents of BUS RIDERS:
We have a new bus driver and the routes have changed some this year. Please allow 10-15 minutes before or after your child's scheduled pickup or dropoff time while drivers adjust to the new routes and stops.
We're looking forward to another great year in Dragon Country!
Ready, set, GROW!!

Thank you to Mr. Steve Shelton for visiting our morning Music classes and sharing some instruments and songs with us!
Mr. Shelton served as band director at NSHS and SSHS, as well as taught music at NRES. His wife Olivia was music teacher at LES. Steve’s name is also on the plaque is you come into the front door of the school, servings as a school board member during the time the county was threatening to close NRES. He’s one of the reasons we still have this school.

Thank you for the donuts and bagels with cream cheese from Cup of Joe in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
